It sounded too good to be true. We could leave school early and earn money working in a trade. I picked heating and air conditioning, and 15 years later, I can tell you I made the right choice.

That program matched students with mentors. I got paired with Roy from Affordable Air. He taught me a lot about the business, and without him realizing it, I learned plenty about life. I’ll always be grateful for his help.

As soon as high school was over, I enrolled in a trade school. I passed all my tests and got my certification a few years later. Then my training really started.

I spent the next 7 years learning while doing. Solving problems, installing systems, and working with customers was only half of it. I wanted to know everything there was about the business, and slowly but surely, things came into focus.

After saving my pennies for years, I had enough to go out on my own. I thought I worked hard before, but owning the business was a whole different level of hard.

It took some time to get things figured out, but one thing has been true since we opened. People keep calling, and they tell their friends and neighbors about us. That’s the highest compliment of all.

Every year, we’ve been growing, learning, and treating every customer like family. We’re not the biggest company, but we’re the best choice in Hutto because every customer matters.
